The internet is full of strange stories, forgotten discoveries, unlikely connections, and questions you never thought to ask.
YDOINTI is an independent investigation puzzle game where the entire internet is your playground.
Every investigation begins with a clue about something real. Perhaps a place that never existed, an invention with an unexpected origin, or a forgotten story hiding in plain sight.
You have a question, a few clues, and every resource you can find.
No multiple-choice answers. No predetermined search path. Just curiosity.
Finding the answer is the game.
How it plays
- Follow the clues. Choose an investigation and uncover its opening clue by lifting the Veil.
- Research anywhere. Search the web, explore Wikipedia, browse archives, follow references, and connect the dots. The in-game Research panel helps you investigate without losing your place.
- Find the answer. Return with your discovery. The answer checker understands common variations and gives useful feedback when you're close.
- Go deeper. Some investigations span multiple stages, with each discovery leading to another.
- Uncover the story. Solving an investigation reveals the explanation and the sources behind it.
Some cases take just a few minutes. Others might send you down a completely unexpected rabbit hole.

You don't need Google to play YDOINTI.
Search wherever you like, but be aware that AI-generated search summaries can sometimes reveal the answer before you've had the fun of discovering it yourself.

About the demo
YDOINTI is currently in development. This is a public playtest, offering a small selection of the investigations and features planned for the complete game.
More investigations, achievements, customization, community features, and native iOS and Android apps are in development.

Things to know
- Your progress is saved locally in your browser when storage is available. It does not sync with the official YDOINTI website.
- Clearing browser storage may erase your demo progress.
- If your browser blocks embedded-game storage, you can still play, but progress might not be saved.
- Researching external sources requires an internet connection.
- Accounts, purchases, memberships, and Community features are not available in this demo.
- The game supports modern desktop and mobile browsers. A larger screen offers more room for research.
